Yesterday I completed my penultimate challenge – my treadmill marathon at David Lloyd, Long Ashton. It was a hard slog, but I felt surprisingly good and my muscles have already recovered! I have even been back to the gym for a work out today!
David Lloyd were great and provided me with drinks throughout as well as putting up posters everywhere to advertise my marathon! Helen and Elsie (my 4 year old niece) managed to bring in another £117 in donations by going round with a collection bucket while I was running!
I must also say a big thank you to my friend Aimee who held a cake sale at work and raised £62.19!
It was a fantastic day and I was overwhelmed by the support from friends and family who came to watch me run and posted messages on Facebook! I also had a visit from Faith and Amit from IES/Brand 51 (my main sponsors) who came to show their support and take some photos and a video!
My treadmill marathon has given me the confidence to know that I am mentally and physically prepared for my Everest marathon – bring on the 29th of May!
Well done Rob. You did it! You dug deep and proved you are indeed fitter both physically and mentally than you have been for many years! You have climbed your own personal Everest so go and follow your dream of seeing the real thing! We will be with you every step of the way! Xxxx
