I promised that I would do my best to write a post from Tenerife so here it is! I don’t want to make you jealous but it is only 8.30am and the sun is already shining! Today we are all having a lazy day by the pool following an action packed day at Siam Water Park yesterday! We went with low expectations but were blown away as soon as we entered the park! Me and Tony were like big kids as we ran around the park, dragging the girls onto all the rides! Several of them allowed you to go down in a four man ‘dinghy’ our favourite being a ride called The Dragon where you experienced zero gravity inside the biggest dragon in the world! Once we had been on all the rides there was still one that we had been saving until last, partly because it was the main attraction but mainly because we were petrified! This was called the Tower of Power or as Tony preferred to call it the Tower of Destiny! We climbed to the top of the tower and dropped 28 metres down an almost verticle decent in free fall and emerged in an aquarium filled with sharks and other large fish! If I’m completely honest, as we made our ascent up the tower I very nearly turned around and went back down, but I was determined not to show weakness in front of Tony! Anyway, I did it and it wasn’t nearly as bad as it looked, in fact it was actually quite enjoyable, although my eyes were firmly shut the whole time so I saw nothing! And as if all this excitement wasn’t enough, we finished the day off with a Tenerife style Indian banquet fit for a curry king! I was in heaven!
Other than this we have been relaxing by the pool, strolling along the seafront and eating and drinking like royalty! Me and Tony entered the pool side quiz and proudly came joint last. Tonight we have entered a pool competition and I’m hoping for a much better outcome! On the exercise front I am yet to go for a proper run, however we have been clocking up the miles walking everyday, our record so far being over 14 miles on the first day!
You’ll be pleased to know that mentally I am feeling better than ever! What would have been immensely difficult for me only a year or so ago is now a walk in the park, and not only that I genuinely don’t have a care in the world! To sum it up, I am having a brilliant holiday with great friends and the love of my life, it is a laugh a minute!
Anyway, I must go – there is sunbathing to be done! Adios!
