I know that I have been back from London for a week now and have not until now been able to post this promised blog about my and Helens trip to London with Chris and Ellie. No, it hasn’t taken me this long to recover I have yet again been back at work administering to the needs of the Bristol public!
Where do I start? Probably best to begin with the main reason for our trip to the capital! As I mentioned before, we were there to help Ellie celebrate her birthday seeing Ed Sheeran at Wembley stadium. We all had a really great time and were fortunate that the weather was kind to us! Ed rocked but I personally was a bit disappointed that the rumours regarding Taylor Swift making a guest appearance was just that, a rumour! Darn it, I was really looking forward to listening to her beautiful voice!!!!!!!!
When we left the stadium along with 80,000 other people there were as you could imagine long long queues for the tube back into London! Much to the disapproval of the girls, Chris and I came up with a plan! As if we hadn’t already had a lot to drink, we thought it would be a good idea to go into the local Sainsbury’s to buy some cans to tide us over until we could hit the bar in our hotel! Our thinking was that by the time we got back to the tube the queues would have subsided! We decided to chill for a bit before heading to the tube. As the saying goes, it’s a small world because we noticed a couple of other couples doing the same thing. We got chatting and would you believe it, they were from Bristol! We all clicked straight away and on the way back to our hotels courtesy of the Jubilee line, we all agreed that it would be really good if we could meet up again on home soil!
I think it best if I don’t go into too much detail about the remainder of the night, let’s just say it was very memorable! I will leave it to your imagination as to what I mean! Please feel free to leave a comment on this blog entry – I will let you know who was the closest to guessing what we got up to!
