Well, here I am again right in the middle of another 5 shifts after 2 rest days! I must admit that I spent my first rest day on Monday in bed as I was absolutely knackered, and I felt I needed to completely recharge my batteries in order to focus on things I wanted to do in relation to my blog etc. I don’t know about you but, when I’m really shattered, I can’t seem to concentrate properly and can’t get as much done!
I had some really good news late on Sunday with regard to potential sponsors. The Pump House bar and restaurant on the waterfront in Merchants Road, Bristol, have emailed me to say that they are happy to make a donation of £100! Not only that, they said they will revise the amount of the donation after the summer when they have a clearer picture of how their finances look. Anyone that knows me well know the afinity I have with that particular hostelry because of their fantastic and unrivalled collection of gin! I am slowly but surely sampling my way through their 400 or so different gins! As you can imagine, I was delighted by their generosity and can’t thank them enough!
When I woke up on Tuesday morning I knew I had done the right thing staying in bed the day before! I felt so much better and could actually think straight again. I decided to go to see the folk at OTR as I wanted to ask them if they could, on my behalf, get in touch with the local press and TV to raise the profile of my campaign to raise as much money as possible for them. I’m glad to say they said they would be able to get their PR team involved in this and do what they can. So it’s fingers crossed this will happen. I will give you an update as soon as I know anything so keep checking my blog.
I also wanted to run by them an idea Helen and I came up with to get the attention of the general public. They thought it was a brilliant idea and a couple of the staff are going to get actively involved with us. I don’t want to say anymore at this point in time, but put 6 July in your diary! More from me soon.
